Exemplary architectural design is the result of experience, vision, and a deep understanding of the client’s needs. A home is more than just a structure, it is a carefully crafted space that balances functionality, aesthetics, and comfort.
Comfort is the feeling of ease and well-being in a space designed for relaxation. It’s the relief of stepping into a well-balanced home, where design, functionality and indoor climate work together seamlessly.
At solutionair, we share this philosophy, drawing on years of expertise in ventilation, heating, and cooling to enhance the home environment. Our solutions archetypically integrate into architectural masterpieces, ensuring an optimal indoor climate that complements both design intent and occupant well-being.
Were others sometimes disregard practicality or well-established principles, solutionair inspires with true innovation and balances, fresh thinking and a solid understanding of design fundamentals. We approach problems or challenges in a creative, unconventional way, looking beyond traditional solutions.
Shortlisted in the NZIA awards small project category, this beautifully renovated 1930s Bungalow in Eden Terrace retains its original charm while Megan Edwards Architects introduced a modern yet warm feel with extensive use of Abodo Vulcan timbers (www.abodo.co.nz) both on the outside and inside of the house, delivering a masterful home.
Fiona and Ben contacted us looking at adding a central ventilation system as well as heating and cooling to their home.
Addressing the need and evaluating standard criteria such as house location, layout, size, accessibility etc… we proposed the Aertesi EOS B1 6 as the ideal solution for their home.
While the hydronic heat pump was installed on the outside of the house, the unit and the plant room fitted comfortably under the house allowing us to duct into each room from a large unincumbered area.
The solution is a freshly vented home, with stale air extraction from bathrooms, WC, laundry and dining room. The integrated heating and cooling of the EOS is delivered to the four bedrooms as well as into the new living, kitchen and dining extension.
Harrison Lane is behind this inspirational 445 sqm contemporary farmhouse that combines luxury and high energy performance.
Nestled in the vast country side of Mangatawheri, Nadene’s home is a warm and inviting space, where modern fixtures seamlessly blend with a rich palette of Tasmanian oak, reclaimed timber and charred wood.
Nadene wanted a sustainable home based on high-performance passive construction principles, and Harrison Lane delivered. More than 80% of the home’s energy is produced by an 8.2kW solar array with storage. Materials were chosen for their sustainability and energy efficiency, such as the insulated concrete floor and PVC window system. Extensive smart home technology controls every part of the home’s environment.
For heating, cooling and ventilation Harrison Lane opted for under floor heating as well as creating two comfort zones within the house using two Aertesi EOS B1 units.
The EOS B1 unit is Passive House approved that handles fresh ventilation, stale air extraction and through it integrated hydronic fan coil also heating and cooling.
At Eco Outdoor, creativity meets craftsmanship. Collaborating with visionary architects, designers, and builders, Eco Outdoor brings bold ideas to life using the finest raw materials—transformed into stunning surfaces and furniture that embrace the rich textures, subtle imperfections, and earthy tones of the natural world.
We sat down with Greg, the passionate force behind Eco Outdoor’s New Zealand branch, to talk about the heating and cooling solution for their beautifully curated Auckland showroom.
Step inside, and you’re greeted by a space that blends modern elegance with industrial character. Housed in a converted warehouse, the showroom balances a light, natural palette with striking black walls and ceilings, creating a dramatic yet welcoming atmosphere.
The climate control system had to complement this unique aesthetic—industrial in essence, yet refined in design.
Samantha Elliott, founder of Green Room Studio, a design-led practice based in Auckland—is a firm believer in the philosophy that less is more. Her approach to design is rooted in simplicity, functionality, and the beauty of living with intention.
So, when it came time to renovate her own home in the lush, forested suburb of Titirangi, she followed the very principles she shares with her clients. The result is a tranquil, light-filled space that feels deeply connected to its surroundings.
Using soft timbers, natural stone finishes, and expansive windows that invite the outdoors in, Samantha created a sanctuary that is both understated and stunning—a true embodiment of her design ethos.
To complement the home’s natural elegance, Samantha partnered with us to integrate a ventilation solution that would discreetly deliver fresh air throughout the home while effectively removing stale, moisture-laden air from the bathroom and laundry on the lower level.
The challenge? Limited ceiling cavity space.
Our answer: the compact yet powerful Maico-Elicent REC 320 balanced ventilation unit paired with the sleek, space-saving Blaufast ducting system. Installed seamlessly in the main bedroom’s wardrobe and routed through the wardrobe top and narrow gaps between trusses, this tailored solution now silently ventilates all three bedrooms, maintaining a healthy indoor climate without disrupting the home’s clean, minimalist lines.
A smart, subtle solution—perfectly aligned with a home designed for living simply, beautifully.
This standout project was the result of a dynamic collaboration between G.J. Gardner Homes, OneAir, and Solutionair.
Debbie Van Leeuwen, franchise owner of G.J. Gardner Manukau & East Auckland, selected a prestigious site near One Tree Hill to create an architecturally designed show home that showcases all three G.J. Gardner build specifications—brought together under one innovative roof.
At the forefront of the design, facing Campbell Road, is the Premium Specification: a beautifully crafted two-level home that exudes style and sophistication. The upper floor features three spacious bedrooms, a media room, and a well-appointed bathroom. The lower-level impresses with a master suite complete with ensuite and walk-in-robe, a guest powder room, and a light-filled open-plan kitchen, dining, and living area designed for seamless modern living.
Debbie partnered with us to deliver a state-of-the-art heating, cooling, and ventilation solution tailored to this multi-level layout. OneAir provided climate control through a fully ducted Daikin heat pump system, while Solutionair integrated a Ventus 450+ balanced ventilation unit directly into the Daikin delivery plenum—ensuring clean, fresh air throughout the upper level.
Using a discreet service shaft, we extended the ventilation to the main bedroom and living space below, with targeted extraction from the ensuite, bathroom, and WC to complete a smart, silent, and efficient air management system—perfectly aligned with the home’s modern functionality and premium finish.
Perched high above the beachside suburb of St Heliers, this striking corner property enjoys sweeping views across the Hauraki Gulf to Rangitoto Island—a setting as spectacular as the home itself.
Designed by the acclaimed Jessop Architects, this bold, modern residence makes a statement with its crisp white façade, unfolding across three sculpted levels. The architecture wraps cleverly around outdoor spaces, offering both shelter and perfectly framed views of the harbour—seamlessly blending form, function, and lifestyle.
Three levels. Three systems. Triple the performance.
This project ranks among the most technically ambitious installations Solutionair has delivered—highlighting the complexities of integrating heating, cooling, and ventilation in a multi-level, architecturally led home where space is at a premium.
The solution: Three Aertesi EOS B1 hydronic units, strategically located in the lower-level plant room and ducted via a vertical service shaft to individually serve each level. Each unit delivers a complete indoor climate solution—fresh air ventilation, stale air extraction, and integrated heating and cooling—all through a single, compact system per floor.
A showcase of design-driven engineering, this home proves that performance and luxury can—and should—coexist.
